President Deane Salter |
|
Deane currently works as the Program Director for the Windward District Secondary Intensive Learning. The WD-SILC is an alternative off campus placement that provides an intensive, behaviorally structured, academic environment to promote educational success for students with emotional and/or behavioral disabilities. The WD-SILC focuses on providing short-term interventions for students so that they can learn the skills necessary to integrate successfully back to their home schools. Before Starting the WD-SILC, Deane was the complex school psychologist for the Kahuku complex from 07’-08’ through the 09’-10’ school year. He has also served as a trainer for the district on such Topics as: Positive Behavioral Support Systems, FBA/BSP, Bullying Prevention and Intervention, RTI, Evidence Based Intervention Sources, and Interventions for Bus Conduct. Prior To Working in the Windward District Deane completed his M.A. in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in School Psychology from Argosy University. Deane received his B.A. in Communication from the University of California Santa Barbara and graduated from Punahou High School. President Elect Tyler Villamil |
|
Tyler Villamil is currently working as a school psychologist in the Honolulu district. His journey as a school psych in Honolulu began in 1997, graduating with a BA in Psychology from Chaminade University, Honolulu. Then, he stepped into the DOE in 1998,as a Physical Education resource teacher at Nuuanu Elementary. He left for Koriyama, Japan to teach English for a private company, serving children to adults. He returned to Hawaii one year later and entered the RISE program. After two years of "interning" at Olomana Youth Center in the Windward District, he settled in Honolulu as a Special Education Teacher for Kalani High School. In 2005, he entered the School Psychology program at Argosy University and graduated with a Master's degree in 2008. He interned at Waialua Complex for a year and then stayed for another year and a half until moving to the Radford Complex in 2009. After 10 years in the DOE, he is finally back in the Honolulu District, serving Nuuanu Elementary again as its Complex School Psychologist. E-mail: argonaut808@yahoo.com |

Past President Gina Scheper |

Gina Scheper, MS, Ed.S, NCSP, is the current Past HASP President and an active member of the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). Gina received her Bachelors of Arts degree from Ohio Wesleyan University in Psychology and Spanish, and received her Masters of Science and Education Specialist degrees in School Psychology at Miami University. She is also a Nationally Certified School Psychologist and a NASP bilingual school psychologist. In addition to serving as a school psychologist in the public schools for the past 6 years, she has also been an adjunct professor with Argosy University in Honolulu and Georgia State University in Atlanta. NASP Delegate Jean Ramage |

Jean Ramage, MA, PhD is the delegate from Hawaii to the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). She contributes a NASP monthly update to Hawaii NASP members. Her term ends in 2012. She has been a school psychologist and/or school psychology educator in California, Oregon, Massachusetts, Virginia, Nebraska and Hawaii. In Hawaii she was the administrator of the School-Based Behavioral Health Program and then the founding director of the Argosy University school psychology program. In 2008, the Trainers of School Psychologists selected her as the outstanding educator in the nation. After retiring, she has been working at the Hawaii capitol’s Legislative Reference Bureau. Treasurer Shane M. Myers |

Shane M. Myers, MA, EdS, NCSP, is a complex school psychologist servicing the Waialua and Leilehua Complexes on Oahu. Shane received his graduate degree in School Psychology from The University of Toledo and is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist. Prior to being employed by the Hawaii Department of Education, Shane provided school psychology services in Ohio and Michigan as well as serving as an adjunct professor at Bowling Green State University. Esteban L. Walstrum, Ed.S. is complex school psychologist for the culturally unique Nanakuli complex on the Waianae coast of Oahu. Esteban was born in San Diego, CA where he attended San Diego State University for an undergraduate degree in psychology before completing his graduate degree in Las Cruces, NM at New Mexico State University. Esteban received his Education Specialist degree in School Psychology with an emphasis on multicultural education for bilingual school professionals. He began his school psychologist career as a school psychologist intern for Aiea Elementary while filling in as Behavior Health Specialist to Aiea Complex for Oahu’s Central District.
